Dr. Donald Pulford (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education, Master of Letters, Doctor of Philosophy) trained as a specialist teacher of English. He majored in English and History for his BA. An MLitt followed and he won the Cecile Parrish Prize for Research on completing his PhD at Monash University.

He taught in schools and universities in Australia, Scotland and England for over thirty years. His students represent a great range of abilities and experience. At one end of the range, he has helped secondary students facing difficulties in writing and, at the other, he has supervised PhD dissertations.

His academic writing has been published in the UK, Australia, the US and Germany. His reviews and magazine articles were published in Australia. Funding applications, project reports and programme notes are among other written work. He has presented at conferences in England, Australia, Scotland, Denmark, Italy, France, Austria and Germany.

As an editor, he has helped writers to successfully pitch their work to funders, producers and publishers. He has also helped creative writers make their stories and scripts more effective as well as refining documents for writers in a business setting.
